How we compute this
Same step-to-calorie approximation as our steps-to-calories tool — about 0.04 kcal burned per step for a 70 kg adult, scaled by your bodyweight. We take the calories in your sweets (from ifit90's Indian food database) and work backwards to the steps it'd take to burn that many calories walking.
This is a light, shareable estimate, not a precise energy-balance calculation — actual burn depends on pace, terrain and fitness, and food isn't "cancelled out" by exercise in any exact sense. Treat it as a fun comparison, not a transaction you owe your body.

Using our estimate, one gulab jamun (about 129 kcal) takes roughly 3,200 steps to walk off for a 70 kg adult — around 2.5 km, or a 30-minute brisk walk. Eat two and it's closer to 6,400 steps. It's a fun comparison, not a precise energy-balance number.
