Roti Calorie Counter

Roti isn't inherently fattening — portion and what goes on it (ghee, butter) is what moves the number. Set your daily target and see how many rotis that actually leaves room for.

How we compute this

Rotis/day = (daily target × share from roti) ÷ calories per roti. We use the real IFCT 2017 value for whichever roti type you pick — a plain atta roti runs about 95 kcal, the same roti with a teaspoon of ghee jumps to about 140 kcal, and a bajra roti (bigger, denser) is about 119 kcal.

The point isn't that roti is good or bad — it's that the calories behind “how many rotis” depend entirely on portion size and what you put on it, the same way they do for rice or anything else.

Questions people ask

There's no fixed number — it depends on your total daily calorie target and how much of that budget you want to spend on roti versus rice, dal and everything else. Set your target and the roti share above and the calculator does the arithmetic for your specific numbers; most people land somewhere around 3-6 plain rotis a day once the rest of the plate is accounted for.
